Learning from Worms

January 10th, 2009 | by admin |

Kids are fascinated by nature and how things work. You put a kid outside and they will eventually come across one of natures best recyclers, the worm. Worms are a bit of a mystery to kids and so they spend a lot of time trying to figure them out. Kids should learn how worms contribute in a very important way other than as fishing bait, by playing with worm farming. These easy to use and fun farms allow you an opening to show kids just how important these worms are to our eco system and how they make it possible for even old soil to rebuild itself. Worms can take organic waste and consume it kicking out a valuable “fertilizer” out the other end that helps soil become a great nutritional resource for plants. This is one time you won’t mind them getting dirty.
