What Can I Do About Disc Desiccation?
December 21st, 2008 | by admin |As we age, it is a good idea to try to stay in shape. This can help to prevent some but not all of the degenerative changes that are typically experienced in the aging process. Unfortunately among those changes is disc desiccation, which is also known as degenerative disc disease. The confusion seems to arise around this term because people think that the word disc means vertebra, and it does not. The disc is the spongy body that rests between each vertebra, acting as a cushion and giving us our flexibility. Desiccation occurs when the disc begins to shrink in the aging process. This is not always painful.
