On Binge Eating Disorder Root Causes

There has been research that has posited a link between Obsessive compulsive disorders, clinical depression and the prevalence of most kinds of binge eating disorder. What is quite shocking about some of the findings is the suggestion that genetics may play a role in the occurrence of binge eating disorders. Some people inherit genes that result in the abnormally low production of certain neurotransmitters. In normal people, these neurotransmitters are released upon eating, triggering feelings of satiation and well-being. In those suffering from certain types of binge eating disorders, this either does not happen or the release of these neurotransmitters is at abnormal levels.
