Macular Degeneration Could Be Hereditary
November 20th, 2007 | by admin |Macular degeneration is found more in whites as compared to blacks. That is the reason why it is the main cause of blindness in the U.S. Also, this disease is a hereditary one which means that if any of your ancestors had macular degeneration, you are probable to have it too.
People who do not have any relative suffering from macular degeneration have 12 % risk of getting this disease. But, those who have such relatives have a fourfold risk i.e 50 %. These people should be more cautious!
