Da Vinci Prostatecomy

December 18th, 2008 | by admin |

My Uncle was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.  My mom asked me to do a little research into the current treatments for this disease to see if there has been an advances over the last few years.  I came across a procedure that had a strange name but seemed like it was very promising and not as traumatic as the usual surgery. A Da Vinci Prostatectomy is basically a minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgical procedure that removes the cancerous prostate gland and other necessary tissue.  When I read about it the procedure sounded like a lumpectomy for the prostate.  Gathering info is a big part making sound decisions when it comes to cancer treatment.
