Child with hearing loss

March 12th, 2008 | by admin |

My grandson who is 19 months old came to live with us in March of this year. He is profoundly deaf in his left ear and severely deaf in his right, and had hearing problems since birth. He needed hearing aids all along but never wore them. As a very active toddler, everything goes in the mouth with him including the hearing aids. He really has difficulty wearing his left. He wears his right for a long time, before he takes it out but he won't let you put it back. Should I just try and get him used to the hearing aids as is?
