American Association of Medical Assistants

The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is a certifying body for medical assistants. It administers the certifying test three times a year jointly with the American Medical Association AMA after which one acquires the Certified Medical Assistant status with the CMA title at the end of their names. AAMA is responsible for upholding the standards of the medical assisting profession and to protect medical assistants’ right to practice.
