Remote Data Acquisition Time Resolution and Logging Units
December 28th, 2007 | by admin |The data that sensors or transducers gather in the process of data acquisition need not be immediately sent to the data acquisition time resolution hardware. In many cases, it may be practical just log all the data first on a dedicated logging unit. Usually, upon the triggering of certain contingencies, such as when data capacity is filled or when a certain lime limit is reached, only then are the gathered measurements transmitted to the data acquisition time resolution hardware and on to the computer. An example of such a use is in Formula 1 racing, where telemetry data cannot always reach the pit crew due to line of sight restrictions to radio signals.
